Gender

Vision

To inspire an ideal world where women, men and people of diverse gender identities are able to challenge gendered barriers and support each other towards an equal existence.

Mission

To advance gender equality through freedom of expression.

Research and Assessment

Bonhishikha conducts Gender Analysis, Gender Action Plan (GAP); and research with a feminist lens, to uncover structural inequalities, document diverse lived experiences; and generate evidence that can drive transformative strategies for systemic change.

Programmes

Bonhishikha’s programmes aim to facilitate safe spaces and nurture feminist leadership, focussing on youth and gender issues; developing cross-movement alliances, with the intention to strengthen movements and reducing inequalities; challenge gender-based violence; promote political participation and enable access to justice.

Advocacy and Campaigns

Through bold campaigns and vibrant events, Bonhishikha challenges stereotypes and reimagines possibilities. From stage to screen, roundtables to festivals, we use feminist storytelling to spark conversations, celebrate diverse voices, and inspire collective action for a more inclusive Bangladesh.

Capacity Development and Workshops

Bonhishikha’s capacity development initiatives nurture feminist leadership, application of a transformative lens, and use of creative tools like art and storytelling to drive change. We build inclusive skills, promote care-centred practices, and strengthen communities to challenge systemic inequalities. Using feminist approaches, we encourage spaces to reflect, unlearn, and reimagine gender and power in every sphere of our lives.
